Short answer
Price the package, not the hour. Decide what a client gets each week (calls, a check-in, messages, plan changes), give it a length, such as 8 or 12 weeks or monthly, then check what the price leaves you for each hour of your time after fees. The calculator below works it out, with every fee shown.
What goes into a package
- Calls. How many, how long, and how they're booked.
- A weekly check-in. The client's week in a minute, and your reply.
- Messages between calls. How quickly you answer, and on which days.
- Plan changes. Meals, habits or training adjusted from what the check-ins show.
- Resources. Recipes, handouts and guides the client keeps.
- An end and a next step. What happens when the package finishes: a review call, and monthly coaching for those who want to continue.

A fixed length
- Easy to say yes to: a start, an end and a price.
- Paid once, so nobody chases a renewal mid-way.
- Ends with a natural moment to offer what comes next.
Monthly
- Lower to start, and steadier income month to month.
- Suits clients after a program, keeping habits going.
- Needs a reason to stay each month: the weekly check-in is it.

Frequently asked
How much should a new health coach charge?
Start from your time, not from other coaches' prices. Add up the hours a package takes you, calls with preparation and the time between them, and set a price that leaves the hourly rate you need after fees. A 12-week package with six calls and 20 minutes a week between them takes about 10 hours; at $900 it leaves about $88.20 an hour on Holicoach's Free plan.
Should I charge per session or per package?
Per package, in most cases. A package is a concrete offer: how long it lasts, how often you talk, and what happens between calls. Clients compare packages more easily than hourly rates, and the weekly check-ins and messages that make coaching work are paid for, not given away.
What fees come off a coaching payment?
Card processing, charged by your payment processor (Stripe, on Holicoach), and your platform's fee. On Holicoach's Free plan that's 2% of what the client pays, with no monthly price; on Pro it's $59 a month (founding price, regular $79) and nothing per payment. You see every fee before you publish a package.
When should I raise my prices?
When the work takes longer than the price allows, when you are turning clients away, or when your offer has grown, for example new skills or more support between calls. Raise prices for new clients first, and tell current clients in advance.
