Short answer
You coach the habits that matter on GLP-1 medication: enough protein, strength training and meals that fit a smaller appetite. Holicoach adds a safety screen before coaching starts, red-flag questions every week, and AI drafts that are blocked if they touch medication. The client’s prescriber looks after the medicine.
What you coach
- A daily protein range you set with each client, in grams per kilogram.
- Strength training two or three times a week, planned around harder days.
- Smaller, regular meals, with templates for low appetite and stomach symptoms.
- Water, sleep and walking, as habits you choose.
What you never do
- Advise on the medication, or on changing it.
- Name or treat medical conditions.
- Promise results.
Coaches agree to this when they turn the module on, and AI drafts are checked for it before you see them.
The safety screen: three outcomes
Before coaching starts, the client answers a short screen in the app. The rules decide the outcome; the coach sees the outcome, not the answers.
- ClearCoaching starts with the full plan.
- Needs clearanceThe client asks their clinician. The full plan unlocks only when the coach records that the clinician cleared them; until then, an everyday-habits plan.
- Not suitableThe GLP-1 module isn’t for this client. Nobody can override it, the coach included.
Every week: the check-in and its flags
- A one-minute check-in: days the protein range was reached, strength sessions, appetite, energy, and days with stomach symptoms.
- Red-flag questions in every check-in. An answer that matches one shows the client how to reach their prescriber or urgent care straight away, flags you as urgent, and stops AI drafts for that client until you’ve reviewed it.
- Your review queue sorts clients by what needs you first: urgent flags, then missed protein days, stomach symptoms, missed sessions and weight changes, with thresholds you set within safe bounds.
Reviewed before it goes live
The module is configuration, not advice: templates, the protein range and the flag thresholds, each within limits. It stays switched off until a clinician has reviewed and approved this version, and an approval that’s withdrawn turns its content off again. The safety rules are tested case by case.
Frequently asked
Can I coach clients on GLP-1 medication without giving medical advice?
Yes, if you stay with habits: protein, strength training and meal structure around the client’s week. The medication itself stays with their prescriber. Holicoach’s screen, red-flag routing and checks on AI drafts are built to keep coaching inside that line.
What happens when a client answers a safety question in a worrying way?
The screen decides, not the coach. Some answers mean coaching starts; some need the client’s clinician to clear them first, which the coach records; some mean the GLP-1 module isn’t suitable, and nobody can override that. Coaches see the outcome, never the answers.
Is the GLP-1 module available now?
Not yet. It goes live once a clinician has reviewed and approved its templates and limits; until then coaches can’t turn it on, and the rest of Holicoach works without it. Sign up now, and you can add the module when it’s approved.
